I attended the 2009 BotCon and this hotel was within walking distance of the Pasadena Convention Center. The BotCon had obtained special rates at the Hilton but I still thought it was a little high. This was my first time at Hilton and I admit I was a little disappointed. With a name like Hilton, I had expected a little more. It's a nice place but I still believe the price was too much. They had vending machines on every floor but each machine did not have the same drinks. I know this because I had to hunt for a Mountain Dew. The machine on my floor was out. Two other floors didn't have MD at all and one did have it but the entire machine was down. The one on the 2nd floor was food only. Seemed like a lot of trouble to get the soda I want. The beds were not all that much better than what I have at home. I feel the beds at The Orleans, which is a lesser place, were much better. The hotel has one restaurant, called Trevos. I only ate breakfast there and the food was good. Overall, this hotel is a good place but don't go here if you're on a budget. Pasadena is a nice town:;

Great downtown Pasadena location central to shopping. Healthy 3 mile walk to Rose Bowl; felt safe on site and on walk. Probably good for onsite meeting attendees, short business trips, or short downtown-focused stays, but I will never stay here again. Encountered extremely poor service and had inefficient/outdated room design but clean and workable. Too small bathroom (e.g. you had to wedge in between the toilet and sink to even close the door), limited lighting (but excellent views of city and hills), too small of desk space (barely enough room for laptop and room service tray). Slow Internet speed (504 kbps) for the $10/day price when can get 30x that for free elsewhere. Can't recommend property but certainly can see why it would be a good choice depending on your needs.

PARKING FEE? FOR GUESTS?
05/29/2009I was absolutely shocked by the parking fee for hotel guests. this should have been added or mentioned in the room rate.

We first were given a very small room for family of 4 (not small children either ) when problem was pointed out the staff had no problem w/ finding a suite for us at the same price of our original reservation price.We were in town to deliver one of our children to college so our reservations were pushed for two extra days and this also was not a problem we were expecting to have to pay more for our suite but no the price was still under the original reservation price I was given. Staff here are very helpful and the valet service was great and fast w/ getting our car. The only problem we had was the roof top pool was dirty toward the end of our stay and was pointed out to a staff member and later that nite we went to use it and it was still dirty and towels were scattered about. The Sunday bruch wasnt all that good either however the room service was great,you must have their deserts. overall we had a very nice stay here and when we go to visit our daughter in LA well proboubly stay here again.
